Primary Function:
Lead and manage all aspects of asbestos, lead, mold and other industrial hygiene projects including conversing with potential and existing clients; managing project coordinators, project managers and/or technicians, proposal generation, managing project budgets and generating final reports and remediation specifications. Additional responsibilities include performing on-site surveys, inspections, assessments, abatement oversight and monitoring and auditing of safety procedures and applicable regulations associated with industrial hygiene and environmental projects.
$5,000 sign-on bonus included.
Responsibilities:
Operational
Budgetary / Financial
โข Meet or exceed individual billable hours and billable revenue targets
โข Maintain WIP aging in acceptable range (<15% WIP over 45 days)
โข Review WIP on projects weekly and requests invoices frequently
โข Assemble cost estimate for proposals, and enter into Project Planning in the ERP system
โข Monitor project budgets throughout the course of the project to ensure costs are on track and proactively make adjustments as needed keeping the client updated
โข Follow procedures for invoicing projects on a progress or a final close out
โข Provide assistance to Accounting Dept. when tasked for collections or invoicing issues
Project Tasks / Performance
โข Update A.R.C. for open projects with current stages and associated due dates
โข Maintain acceptable report turnaround time to ensure timely deliverables
โข Review project scope and select tasks and deliverables
โข Field calls from potential and existing clients
โข Follow the procedure for opening new projects, communicate all required information
โข Establish the schedule for the projects and assign appropriate/capable staff
โข Perform and/or coordinate field investigations
โข Oversee field personnel activity and quality and provide feedback to the team involved
โข Select, rent or borrow the necessary equipment for projects
โข Prepare and review reports for projects
โข Enter time and expenses daily
โข Save all project-related documents into electronic project file
Business Development
โข Monitor open opportunities in ERP system and follow up with the client accordingly
โข Maintain relationships with focus clients and update data accordingly in ERP system
โข Attend association meetings and client meetings
โข Arrange and attend presentation opportunities
โข Refer and/or engage the business development team in local opportunities
โข Assist in the preparation of marketing resources (project summaries)
Technical
โข Maintain technical certifications
โข Attend required technical training (internal and external)
โข Assist in the development of staff
โข Maintain internal QA/QC compliance
Desirable Qualifications:
โข A minimum of 2 years working knowledge of industrial hygiene, environmental health and safety concepts, and the use of common IEQ field instruments
Abilities:
โข Effective, professional and clear communication skills, both written and oral
โข Flexibility in work schedule and willingness to travel to different project locations as needed
โข Ability to use and quickly learn computer programs, including Microsoft Office Word and Excel
Experience:
โข Minimum 8 years of experience working in the field and/or experience successfully managing large and complex projects in at least one area of our service lines
Education / Credential:
โข Bachelorโs degree in industrial hygiene, health and safety, biological or physical science is preferred
Licenses and Certifications
Required certifications must be current and relevant to the scope of work.ย Preferred (not required):
โข (CAC) Certified Asbestos Consultant
โข Current certifications for type of work being conducted
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 30 lbs.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer for documentation and reporting
- Must be able to pass a background check, annual physicals, and OSHA-required respirator fit tests
- Valid driverโs license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance
