Job description

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead a large project or multiple project efforts, which may include subcontractors, high dollar value material content and multiple resources.  Your responsibilities will include the management and coordination of the design, procurement, implementation, and commissioning phases of projects, including the commercial, financial, and technical success of the project. You will take a leadership role in developing project proposals and vetting project cost estimates. You will develop and communicate a clear understanding of the client's project goals and maintain the company's alignment to these goals, enabling your team to exceed client expectations and budgeted profitability.

You will:  

  • Manage multi-million dollar in projects annually supporting company determined strategies.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with different magnitudes of schedules, budgets, and constraints.
  • Manage Client Communication – Ensure effective communication between the client, the project team, ETG Business Development, and the ETG management team at all phases of the project.
  • Be effective at resolving scope, schedule, and cost issues as they arise.
  • Manage and mitigate project execution risk
  • Produce project proposals and estimates and review project execution plans for project executability and risk mitigation.
  • Develop project schedules and project plans: Develop the project labor resource plan and procurement plan to meet the client's schedule objective and project cash flow requirements.
  • Drive Scope – Maintain firm control of scope of compliance, change management,  and contract requirements. Ensure that scope is well defined and communicated, and proactively obtain any required Change Orders, develop additional scope opportunities which may serve the client's objective.
  • Maintain Cost – Develop and maintain project cost budgets and reports; manage estimated cost at completion, earned value, and contingency.
  • Forecast monthly project costs avoiding cost overruns.
  • Work with the Engineering Department and Engineering Manager to plan for resources, engineer's availability, project schedules, training, etc.
  • Attend project/job walks, start-ups, commissioning, project close out meetings, etc.
  • Participate in internal PMO meetings
  • Lead the Project Team – In collaboration with the project Technical Lead, manage the project team in achieving the project tasks and milestones on schedule and under budget.
  • Work closely with the Operations group to ensure that the right resources are assigned to the project at the optimal time. Communicate project progress to the team and to the client and be an effective advocate for the project team. Identify project risks in advance and mobilize the necessary resources to mitigate risks.
  • Be an ambassador who embodies our Core Values, prioritizing the success of E Tech Group, our clients, and the professional development of our associates. 

You have:  

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related Engineering fields
  • Minimum of five years of directly related control system Project Management experience and a deep understanding of life sciences and food, beverage, and consumer product industries.
  • Experience with control system configuration/software development
  • Understanding of control systems, Instrumentation experience and engineering project execution.
  • Manage and mitigate project execution risk
  • Proven ability to diplomatically negotiate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders in complex situations
  • Experience in job cost analysis, budget management, time and schedule management, resource management, and scope management
  • Must be available for travel up to 30%
  • Demonstrated ability to formally Manage Scope and Changes to Projects
  • Demonstrated ability to independently write proposals and change orders and other communications.
  • Represents themselves Professionally in all circumstances.
