A Day in the LifeJoin Medtronic as a PD Program Manager in our Endoscopy Project Management Office (PMO). In this pivotal role, you'll lead cross-functional teams through our Product Development Process to deliver new technologies to our customers and serve patients.

  • Leads or leverages cross-functional teams to evaluate, develop and manage projects for new product development.
  • Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
  • Develops and monitors schedules, plans, tasks, and priorities, ensuring a streamlined workflow.
  • Drives problem-solving sessions, maintaining a sense of urgency and holding team members accountable to commitments.
  • Anticipates and mitigates risks, balancing time, schedule, cost, and quality, while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.
  • Manages project financials, including forecasting and tracking of accruals and actuals.
  • Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.
  • Monitors the project from initiation through delivery.
  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and external partners.
  • Accountable for ensuring that the Core Team(s) achieve contracted commitments and performance metrics.
  • Gathers requirements, works on requirements planning, requirements elicitation and requirements management to ensure they meet demands of project's key stakeholders.
  • Communicates with stakeholders, obtains stakeholder engagement to ensure the end products or processes will solve the business problems.

PROGRAM MANAGEMENT CAREER STREAM:Program Managers focus on tactical, operational activities for a major program with broad or ongoing impact. Levels within the program management career stream typically accomplish program objectives through matrixed employee teams and / or vendors who are not direct reports but for which the incumbent has direct accountability to lead. The majority of time is spent overseeing their area of responsibility, managing program/team performance, communicating project and operational developments, planning, prioritizing and / or directing the responsibilities of program team members. Goal achievement is typically accomplished through performance of program team members.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree and minimum of 5 years of Program management experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of Program Management experience.
  • Requires practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and tactics within one job area.
  • Has advanced knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the organization.

Nice to Have

  • 10+ years of experience in Project Management
  • MBA and/or PMP / CSM Certification
  • High degree of competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Proven track record of successfully managing within a matrixed organization
  • Knowledgein product development, project management, and commercialization in the medical device industry
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills; builds trusting relationships with team members and key leadership stakeholders
  • Must be able to lead cross-functional discussions; driving towards alignment, decisions, resolutions when necessary
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once while understanding cultural differences between various regions of the world
  • Experience with software and AI solutions
  • Experience working under regulations of the FDA, notified bodies, and other regulatory agencies for successful commercial launches
  • Product launch experience working with Global teams
  • Experience with SAFe/Agile software development practices
