Job description

Precision is an award-winning integrated strategy and marketing agency based in Washington, DC and New York, NY. Powered by data, we bring world-class experts in each of our service areas to conceive, develop, and run campaigns that help our clients seize opportunities and solve their biggest challenges. We're at the center of today's biggest debates and defining moments, inside the Beltway, across New York's media and financial worlds, and in state capitals across the country. Our work sits at the intersection of politics, business, and culture, helping leaders and organizations make an impact when it matters most. We hire people who are the best at what they do, and who like to have fun doing it; we don't just break through. We break new ground.
We are seeking an Associate to join our Data & Analytics team in New York, NY or Washington, DC. This is a fantastic entry point for a curious, detail-oriented professional who wants to do meaningful intelligence and insights work - helping translate social listening, reputation monitoring, primary research, and AI-powered analysis into communications strategy for some of the world's most influential organizations. You'll thrive here if you are resourceful, eager to learn, and energized by turning data into stories that matter.
What You Will Be Doing:
Client Management
  • Assists client leads with administrative components of accounts, including agendas, notes, trackers, and project documentation.
  • Supports data and intelligence workstreams, taking ownership of defined tasks and contributing to team deliverables with accuracy and attention to detail.

Collaboration
  • Engages across teams and works respectfully and effectively with colleagues in data, strategic communications, creative, and paid media.
  • Communicates effectively in 1:1 settings and small groups; can present findings to small internal audiences clearly and confidently.
  • Contributes to team learning by sharing knowledge with peers and supporting new team members. Provides direction to interns as needed.

Project & Time Management
  • Owns assigned tasks - updates trackers, meets deadlines without reminders, organizes documents for team sharing, and understands how work ladders up to larger client goals.
  • Manages multiple workstreams simultaneously with strong organizational skills and follow-through.

Strategy
  • Drafts reports, presentations, and client-facing deliverables with little to no writing errors. Seeks feedback and incorporates it into written work.
  • Stays curious and resourceful - knows where to find answers and brings a problem-solving mindset to every assignment.
  • Conducts research to support strategic goals and client needs, knowing when to escalate issues to senior team members.

Data & Intelligence Specific
  • Supports social listening and digital intelligence workstreams, pulling, organizing, and summarizing monitoring data from platforms such as Brandwatch, Meltwater, or Sprinklr to help inform client strategy and communications activations.
  • Assists in the execution of primary research projects, including surveys and focus groups, supporting everything from fielding and data cleaning through analysis and reporting, ensuring outputs are accurate, on time, and clearly communicated.
  • Contributes to reputation monitoring workflows, tracking client reputational landscapes and flagging emerging issues to senior team members with speed and clarity.
  • Supports the delivery of terrAIn, Precision's proprietary Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) offering; helping package and format GEO findings for client-facing reports and presentations.
  • Pulls data and builds reports for multiple clients with little to no edits needed; identifies patterns in data and helps bring them to life through clear, compelling narratives.

What We Are Looking For:
  • 1+ years of professional experience in data, analytics, research, communications, or a related field. Internship experience considered.
  • Familiarity with social listening, digital monitoring, or primary research tools and methodologies is a strong plus.
  • Ability to spot patterns in data and a passion for translating numbers into meaningful stories.
  • A resourceful, positive attitude and an eagerness to solve problems.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills - fluency with Excel a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative, energetic, and possesses an entrepreneurial spirit.

What We Will Give You:
  • Competitive salaries
  • Annual bonus opportunity
  • Flexible hybrid remote/in office plan
  • Retirement plan with automatic 3% safe-harbor contribution from Precision
  • Healthcare coverage - medical, dental and vision with 90% of costs covered by Precision
  • Paid vacation and sick leave
  • Paid parental leave
  • Professional development stipend

The salary range for this role is $58,500 - $62,000.
We are currently working in a hybrid model and require staff to work in the office 50% of working days per month.
