Job description

Purpose:

Aldridge Pite, LLP is looking for an Hawaii Foreclosure / Litigation Intern to practice out of the firm’s Honolulu office. The intern will manage cases with an emphasis on residential real estate litigation, mortgage and transactional matters and protect the client's interest in litigation proceedings and general collection cases. The primary focus will be judicial foreclosure actions.

This position will convert to an Associate Attorney role once the position becomes available.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage cases from inception to completion
  • Prepare analysis of case and advise client regarding strategies
  • Draft court pleadings, defense of motions
  • Attend court hearings, both telephonic and in person
  • Other duties and special projects as needed

Job Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor
  • Bar passage not required - can be planning to take the Hawaii Bar
  • One year of experience in the practice of law, preferably litigation, real estate or mortgage law preferred but not required
  • Must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Must have the ability to interpret client systems
  • Must be proficient in software tools including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook and the Internet
  • Ability to manage and prioritize large caseloads
