Job description

Coldstream Capital Partners is a boutique investment bank specializing in sell-side advisory services for middle-market companies across a range of industries. With a deep understanding of market dynamics and a commitment to delivering exceptional results, we provide bespoke advisory services to our clients, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), strategic advisory, and capital raising. Our team is known for its entrepreneurial spirit, strong work ethic, and dedication to client success. Since our merger with Coldstream Wealth Management in 2017, we have grown to one of the largest independent and shareholder-owned firms on the West Coast.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate to join our team in Bellevue, WA. This position requires a hybrid in-office training period, with remote work increasing as training is completed. Your home base will need to be in Washington or Oregon.

You will play a critical role in supporting deal execution and contributing to client relationships within our sell-side advisory practice. You will be responsible for assisting with various aspects of the transaction process, from initial client engagement through closing.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Deal Execution Support:

  • Assist in the execution of sell-side advisory transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic advisory engagements.
  • Prepare marketing materials, including pitch books, information memoranda, management presentations, and valuation analyses.
  • Support the due diligence process, coordinate with buyers, and assist in drafting key transaction documentation.
  • Maintain effective communication and coordination between internal teams, clients, and external parties, such as legal, accounting, and other advisors.
2. Client Support and Relationship Management:
  • Collaborate with senior team members to provide strategic advice and guidance to clients throughout the transaction process.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients by delivering high-quality service and demonstrating a deep understanding of their objectives.
3. Financial Analysis and Valuation:
  • Conduct financial analyses, including financial modeling, valuation (DCF, precedent transactions, trading comparables), and sensitivity analyses to support transaction decisions.
  • Evaluate financial statements, market data, and other relevant information to develop comprehensive financial projections and investment theses.
4. Research and Market Analysis:
  • Stay informed of market trends, industry dynamics, and competitive landscape to provide clients with informed, data-driven insights.
  • Perform sector-specific research to support transaction positioning and strategic recommendations.
5. Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with Analysts and senior team members to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of work products.
  • Contribute to a collaborative and high-performance team environment, sharing knowledge and best practices.
6. Business Development Support:
  • Assist in business development initiatives, including pitch preparation, target identification, and market outreach.
  • Support senior bankers in identifying new business opportunities and expanding the firm's client base.

  • Minimum of 2 years of investment banking experience, or relevant financial services experience, with a focus on sell-side M&A advisory.
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills and proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Deal Cloud/Pitchbook and research databases is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to clients and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and strategic thinking.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; MBA or CFA designation preferred but not required.
