Homelessness is the largest social and public health crisis in California. Illumination Health + Home is a growing non-profit organization dedicated towards disrupting the cycle of homelessness by providing targeted, interdisciplinary services in our recuperative care centers, emergency shelters, housing services and children's and family programs. IF currently has 13+ facilities with 22+ micro-communities scattered across Orange County, Los Angeles County and the Inland Empire.


Pay range is $20-21/hour. Monday - Friday 10am-6:30pm.
Role
The Client Care Associate is responsible for addressing clients’ immediate shelter needs,

providing support and resources to ensure their safety and comfort. This included assisting with

intake procedures, coordinating with shelter staff, and providing basic amenities as needed.

Additionally, the associate will maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the multiple shelters,

ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all clients. The role requires a proactive

approach to problem solving and commitment to supporting clients through their immediate

housing challenges.

Responsibilities

Client Care:

● Assist with client intakes by cleaning and preparing rooms for new families entering the

family shelters.

● Check in with clients on-site and perform walk-throughs of family shelters to ensure client

safety and welfare.

● Address any after-hours client concerns and inform management as necessary.

● Communicate after hour emergencies to management.

● Conduct curfew checks throughout all shelter locations.

● Monitor sites for any safety concerns.

● Ensure daily chores are completed and shelter participants maintain a clean-living

environment.

● Work collaboratively with shelter staff to ensure room checks are kept up to shelter

standards.

● Assist with distributing donations throughout all shelter sites.

Facility Upkeep:

● Perform general cleaning of all shelters, including sweeping, mopping, wiping, and

vacuuming, and updating cleaning logs.

● Dispose of all trash accumulated within the facility.

● Ensure shelters are stocked with necessary items.

● Visit various sites.

Must demonstrate the ability to motivate staff, grasp new skills/procedures and foster a positive attitude toward changes while displaying respect towards clients and others.

Set and maintain healthy boundaries with clients.

Answer phone calls and emails in a professional and timely manner.

Must comply with Illumination Foundation dress code policy

Exercise good judgement and utilize best practices when working with clients.

Acts in an ethical manner reflecting core values of integrity, transparency, accountability, respect and responsibility.

Models’ openness, honesty and accountability to colleagues, volunteers, donors and all others involved with Illumination Health + Home.

Must maintain confidentiality of work-related information and materials.

Must accept personal responsibility and accountability for performance of duties.

Possess a full understanding of the needs of the low-income/homeless population

Effectively using interpersonal and communications skills including tact and diplomacy.

Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team, clients, and general public

Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, prioritize and exercise good judgment with minimal supervision.

Maintain and execute confidential information according to HIPAA standards

Preferred Experience/Minimum Qualifications

● High School Diploma or equivalent.

● Basic computer skills, including the ability to send and receive emails and summarize data in

spreadsheets.

● Valid CA Driver’s License and eligibility for company vehicle insurance.

● Bilingual in English and Spanish.

● 1 year relevant experience.
