Job description

MR. AIR NYC

Residential Comfort Advisor/In-Home Building Science Consultant

Location: New York City, NY -- Serving Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens

Sell Certainty, Not Just Systems.

MR. AIR NYC is a high-performance HVAC and building science company serving New York City's Brownstones, townhomes, historic properties, and premium residential clients. We specialize in thoughtful, engineered comfort solutions that improve energy efficiency, indoor air quality, and long-term home performance. Our approach is consultative, technical, and built around trust.

We are hiring a Residential Comfort Advisor to meet with homeowners, evaluate their comfort concerns, and guide them through premium HVAC and building performance solutions. This is not a traditional "pushy sales" role. We are looking for someone who can listen, educate, build trust, and translate technical information into clear benefits for the client.

You will work with homeowners, internal field teams, and engineering support to present solutions based on diagnostics, load calculations, 3D scanning, building science principles, and the unique realities of NYC homes. This role is a strong fit for someone with in-home sales, high-end client service, construction, design, remodeling, real estate, architecture, or even event/wedding planning experience where communication, coordination, and client confidence are critical.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-home consultations with homeowners in Brownstones, townhouses, historic homes, and high-value residential properties
  • Build trust quickly with clients by listening carefully, asking the right questions, and explaining solutions clearly
  • Evaluate comfort concerns, property conditions, system needs, and project goals
  • Use company tools, digital documentation, photos, 3D scanning, and client communication systems to support the sales process
  • Work with the technical and engineering team to present properly designed HVAC and building performance solutions
  • Explain the features, advantages, and benefits of premium systems in a way clients can understand
  • Help clients understand long-term value, indoor air quality, energy efficiency, comfort, and property protection
  • Present maintenance plans, seasonal protection options, and long-term service opportunities
  • Maintain accurate notes, follow-ups, estimates, project details, and client communication through company systems
  • Represent MR. AIR NYC with professionalism, warmth, and confidence in every client interaction

Qualifications

  • Sales experience is preferred, but strong client-facing experience from other industries will be considered, including wedding planning
  • In-home sales, HVAC, remodeling, construction, architecture, design, real estate, luxury service, or event planning experience is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical ideas in simple, confident language
  • Professional presentation and ability to work with high-end residential clients
  • Technical aptitude and willingness to learn HVAC, building science, home performance, and energy retrofit concepts
  • A construction background or technical education is a plus
  • Comfortable using tablets, apps, CRM systems, photo documentation, and digital communication tools
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required
  • Reliable transportation required.

Pay and Benefits

  • Job Type: Full-Time, W-2 Employee
  • Base pay during the initial training/onboarding period: $50.000 - $60.000, then transition into commission-based compensation with realistic earnings from $75.000 to $150.000+
  • Uncapped commission opportunity
  • High-quality inbound leads from homeowners looking for specialized HVAC and historic home solutions
  • Training in consultative sales, building science, system design, and MR. AIR NYC's sales process
  • After successful completion of the probationary period:
  • Paid time off
  • Paid holidays
  • Health insurance available, with company contribution
  • IRA retirement plan with company match
  • Long-term growth opportunities as the company expands its residential comfort and building performance division

Why MR. AIR NYC

MR. AIR NYC gives the right salesperson something rare: a premium service, a strong technical team, and a clear reason to stand apart from competitors. You will not be selling cheap equipment or one-size-fits-all solutions. You will help homeowners make smart, lasting investments in comfort, efficiency, air quality, and property value. This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants to grow into a trusted advisor role in New York's luxury residential HVAC market.

MR. AIR NYC encourages applications from qualified candidates of all backgrounds and experiences.
