UB Greensfelder, an Am Law 200 firm, is seeking a visionary Chief Marketing Officer to lead our marketing, business development, and communications strategy. The CMO will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer and leadership team to align marketing initiatives with firm goals and client needs, driving growth and enhancing brand reputation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Marketing Strategy Leadership
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with firm objectives and target client base.
    • Position the firm as a thought leader in key practice areas; craft brand messaging and communications.
    • Conduct competitive analysis and industry research to inform strategy and adjust tactics.
  • Business Development & Client Engagement
    • Build and nurture client relationships; identify and pursue new business opportunities.
    • Collaborate with attorneys to develop lead generation and conversion strategies.
    • Create client retention programs including newsletters, thought‑leadership content, and events.
  • Digital Marketing & Communications
    • Lead SEO, SEM, social media, content marketing, and website optimization.
    • Oversee development of engaging client‑focused content such as blogs, case studies, and white papers.
    • Manage social media presence and public relations efforts to position the firm as an industry expert.
  • Thought Leadership & Industry Engagement

  • Team Leadership & Development

  • Budgeting & Financial Management
    • Manage marketing budget, allocating resources for maximum ROI.
    • Track ROI, monitor campaign performance, and adjust based on outcomes.
  • Marketing Analytics & Reporting
    • Use analytics and KPIs to track campaign ROI, client acquisition, and brand impact.
    • Report results to Managing Partner and leadership team; gather client feedback and market trends for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • Education – Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or related field; advanced degree (MBA, JD, or similar) preferred.
  • Experience – 10+ years of marketing leadership, preferably in the legal industry, with a proven track record of strategies that drive growth and brand awareness.
  • Skills & Expertise – Deep understanding of legal market dynamics, client acquisition, digital marketing (SEO, SEM, social media, email), content creation, and event planning.
  • Leadership & Interpersonal – Experience managing cross‑functional teams, fostering creativity, and collaborating with senior leadership and attorneys.
  • Personal Attributes – Strategic thinker, results‑oriented, strong leadership and team‑building skills, adaptable to emerging technologies, proactive, self‑starter, problem‑solver with excellent organizational skills.
