Job description

A Cleveland Clinic-affiliated community hospital is seeking a highly skilled and collaborative Pathologist to join its multidisciplinary medical team. The Pathologist a of solo practice will be responsible for providing comprehensive diagnostic services, including the evaluation of surgical specimens, cytology, and clinical laboratory data. This role plays a critical part in delivering accurate diagnoses that directly impact patient care and clinical decision-making, while serving as the CLIA Lab Director.

  • Examine and diagnose tissue samples, body fluids, and other specimens using standard laboratory techniques
  • Interpret and report findings in surgical pathology, cytopathology, and/or clinical pathology within established turnaround times.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, surgeons, oncologists, and other clinicians to guide patient care
  • Participate in tumor boards, case conferences, and interdisciplinary meetings
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards (CAP, CLIA, Joint Commission, etc.)
  • Provide consultation and guidance to laboratory staff and clinicians
  • Oversee quality assurance and quality control programs within the laboratory
  • Lead departmental quality improvement and operational performance initiatives
  • Serve as Medical Director for multiple CLIA waived off site location laboratories
