Job description

JOB TITLE:  Library Media Aide                                      WAGE/HOUR STATUS:  Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO:   Principal                                                 PAY GRADE:   Clerical (2)

DEPT/SCHOOL:   Campus                                               EMPLOYMENT DAYS:   186

                                                                                          DATE REVISED:  July 2026

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Provide supportfor the instructional and literary needs of students and faculty while maintaining the efficient operation of the media center.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

            Associate Degree

            2 years of college (48 hrs) from an Institute of Higher Education

           Or hold a Certificate of Qualification for Paraprofessional

           *Must apply for TEA Instructional Aide Certification

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Working knowledge of library classification scheme

           Proficiency in computer skills

           General knowledge of audio-visual equipment

           Clerical skills
