Position Title: Clerical Series Level II
Location: Various School Locations
Salary: $16.47-$18.56/hr.
Reports to: Principal
Bargaining Unit: DAEOE
Telecommuting Eligibility: School-based. Not eligible for telecommuting.

In accordance with the Agreement between the Detroit Association of Educational Office Employees (DAEOE) and the Detroit Public Schools Community District, the following vacancy is announced:
Position Summary:
The Clerical II will support the front office by greeting visitors and parents, assisting with enrollment and general clerical office functions daily.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Candidate must possess a High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
• One or more years of accounting coursework helpful.
• Must have one to two years related bookkeeping work experience required; candidate must be familiar Microsoft Office -- Word, Excel, Access; experience with QuickBooks software, etc.
• Must have strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills and the ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.

• Accuracy: Able to perform work accurately and thoroughly
• Integrity and clarity in all communications and interactions
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking and organizational skills

Essential Functions
1. Maintain supporting documentation for cash receipts and disbursements.
2. Maintain timely and accurate general ledgers and/or trial balances and perform bank reconciliations monthly.
3. Maintain accurate and appropriate records and files relative to the effective operation of the office and/or bookstore.
4. Answer phones, greet visitors.
5. Perform other clerical duties as assigned.
6. Monitor the procurement of goods and services utilizing the Districts e-procurement system. This includes creating requisitions, receiving on goods and services and following up on outstanding purchase orders.
Security Clearance:
Internal Applicants
If you are a current Detroit Public Schools Community District employee, you do not have to submit to a new security clearance, unless your new role requires a different type of criminal background check.
