Position Overview

Augment Professional Services (APS) is seeking experienced Mechanical Commissioning Technicians to support commissioning and startup of mechanical systems within a semiconductor, cleanroom, or similarly complex advanced manufacturing environment.

This field-focused position will verify installation quality, execute commissioning procedures, troubleshoot mechanical systems, and support startup and turnover of HVAC, process utility, piping, and facility equipment.

Candidates with semiconductor fabrication facility experience, particularly those who have supported major semiconductor manufacturers or comparable cleanroom facilities, are strongly preferred.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Perform mechanical system inspections and commissioning activities.
  • Execute pre-functional and functional commissioning checklists.
  • Support startup and testing of HVAC and mechanical equipment.
  • Verify installation of piping, valves, pumps, air-handling equipment, and associated systems.
  • Review P&IDs, mechanical drawings, equipment documentation, and manufacturer requirements.
  • Identify installation deficiencies and support corrective actions.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical system performance during startup.
  • Support TAB, controls integration, equipment startup, and functional testing.
  • Coordinate with mechanical contractors, engineers, controls teams, vendors, and client operations.
  • Document commissioning results, punch-list items, and turnover status.
  • Support cleanroom environmental and facility readiness activities.
  Required Technical Skills
  • Mechanical commissioning, startup, HVAC, facilities, maintenance, or industrial mechanical experience.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC and mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to read P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and equipment documentation.
  • Experience inspecting piping, valves, pumps, fans, air-handling units, and related systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and field inspection skills.
  • Ability to follow commissioning procedures and document results.
  • Ability to work effectively in an active construction and startup environment.
Preferred Experience / Qualifications
  • Semiconductor fabrication or cleanroom experience.
  • Previous experience supporting major semiconductor manufacturing facilities.
  • Data center, pharmaceutical, battery manufacturing, or other mission-critical facility experience.
  • HVAC or mechanical trade background.
  • Commissioning certification or formal commissioning experience.
  • Experience with process cooling water, chilled water, exhaust, compressed air, specialty utility, or central plant systems.
  • Experience coordinating mechanical systems with controls/BMS systems.
