Job description

Commercial Cleaning Team Lead (Evening Shift)

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Cleaning Team Lead to oversee evening janitorial services at one of our client locations in Falls Church, VA.

This position is employed by our commercial cleaning company and assigned to service a professional office facility. The ideal candidate has strong commercial cleaning experience, leadership skills, and hands-on knowledge of commercial floor care, including the operation of floor equipment and proper floor maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a small evening cleaning team while performing daily cleaning duties.
  • Ensure all work is completed according to company quality standards.
  • Inspect the building before the team leaves each night.
  • Train and coach team members on proper cleaning techniques.
  • Perform commercial cleaning including vacuuming, dusting, mopping, disinfecting, trash removal, and restroom cleaning.
  • Perform and oversee floor care, including:
    • Auto scrubber operation
    • Low-speed floor machine use
    • Burnishing/high-speed buffing
    • Floor stripping and waxing (as needed)
    • Carpet spotting and extraction (preferred)
  • Report supply needs, maintenance concerns, attendance issues, and quality concerns to management.
  • Follow all company safety policies and client security procedures.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of commercial cleaning experience (required).
  • Previous Team Lead or supervisory experience (preferred).
  • Experience with commercial floor care equipment is required.
  • Knowledge of stripping, waxing, burnishing, auto scrubbers, and floor maintenance best practices.
  • Ability to train and motivate a cleaning team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Reliable transportation and excellent attendance.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and work on your feet throughout the shift.
  • Must pass a background check if required for the assigned facility.
