Job description

The Housekeeping Rooms Inspector is responsible for assisting with leading the members of the Housekeeping Department and performing cleaning inspections. The Housekeeping Inspector represents the hotel to all guests, coordinating guest needs with other hotel departments utilizing the principles, policies and standards of Hulsing Hotels.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assign rooms on a daily basis when the executive housekeeper is absent to be cleaned by room attendants.
  • Inspect rooms that have been cleaned by room attendants and release them to the front desk when they are ready for the guest.
  • Inspect public areas for cleanliness regularly and assign projects as needed.
  • Ensure all lost and found items are logged and secured.
  • Assist with the supervision and scheduling of Room Attendants, Laundry staff and Public Area staff in accordance with staffing guidelines.
  • Assist with training of new hires in specified phases of the housekeeping operation. Maintain an ongoing training program for existing staff.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills Required:
  • High School Diploma or at least two (2) years of previous experience as a room attendant or another related field.
  • Must be team oriented, empathetic, friendly and show initiative.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well organized and able to prioritize tasks.
