School Custodian – Full-TimeKingdom Heights Preparatory School | Huntsville, AlabamaKingdom Heights Preparatory School is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Full-Time School Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students, families, faculty, and staff.Kingdom Heights is a Christ-centered school committed to excellence in every area of campus life. Our custodial team plays an important role in that mission by ensuring that classrooms, restrooms, common areas, and school facilities are clean, sanitary, organized, and ready for students each day.What You'll DoThe School Custodian is responsible for the daily cleaning and general care of assigned areas throughout the school campus. Responsibilities include:Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors and carpeted areas.Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, hallways, common areas, and other assigned spaces.Empty trash and replace liners throughout the school.Clean windows, doors, fixtures, counters, and other surfaces as needed.Regularly monitor restrooms and high-traffic areas throughout the school day.Restock paper products, soap, and other custodial supplies.Respond promptly to spills and other immediate cleaning needs.Assist with cafeteria and lunch-area cleanup.Maintain custodial equipment and supplies in a clean, safe, and organized manner.Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, damaged equipment, or facility concerns to the appropriate administrator.Assist with school events, room setup, breakdown, and special cleaning projects as needed.Help maintain the cleanliness and appearance of entrances and designated exterior areas.Follow all school safety procedures and proper procedures for handling cleaning products and equipment.Perform other custodial duties as assigned.What We're Looking ForThe ideal candidate takes pride in their work, notices what needs attention, and can complete responsibilities without requiring constant supervision.Qualifications and Skills:High school diploma or GED preferred.Previous custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, or facility-maintenance experience preferred.Knowledge of basic cleaning techniques, sanitation procedures, and custodial equipment.Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain a consistent work schedule.Self-motivated and able to work independently.Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.Ability to prioritize responsibilities in a busy school environment.Professional and respectful when interacting with students, parents, faculty, and staff.Willingness to support the mission, values, and Christian culture of Kingdom Heights Preparatory School.Ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality and professional boundaries in a school environment.Physical RequirementsThis position requires regular physical activity throughout the workday, including prolonged standing and walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
