Job Title: Lot Associate

Department: Sales / Operations

Reports to: General Sales Manager

Classification: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday - Saturday (Sunday, and another day off tbd)


Job Description

The Lot Associate is responsible for maintaining the overall appearance, organization, and readiness of all vehicles and outdoor areas at The Barker Automotive Group. This role ensures that every vehicle on the lot is presented in a clean, professional, and front-line ready condition at all times.


The Lot Associate plays a key role in the dealerships first impression. They are responsible for making sure vehicles are properly staged, clean on the exterior, fueled, and aligned to reflect the standards of the Barker brand.


This position requires attention to detail, consistency, and a strong sense of ownership over the physical presentation of the dealership. The Lot Associate must work closely with the sales and management teams to ensure vehicles are always ready for customers to view and purchase.


The Lot Associate will report to and work closely with the General Sales Manager, using their skills in the following areas:


Major Responsibilities and Activities:


  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of all vehicles on the lot
  • Ensure all vehicles are:
  • Properly parked and aligned
  • Clean on the exterior (washed and dried as needed)
  • Free of debris, dirt, snow, and residue
  • Ensure all vehicles have:
  • Adequate fuel levels
  • Correct plate frames installed
  • Correct bumper stickers and branding applied
  • Monitor and maintain the overall appearance of the lot, including:
  • Straight lines of vehicles
  • Clear walkways and drive lanes
  • Clean and professional presentation of all areas
  • Move vehicles as needed to support sales, service, and deliveries
  • Assist in staging vehicles for display, photos, or customer pickup
  • Perform regular lot walks to identify and correct any issues
  • Communicate with management regarding vehicles that need attention

Service Department (as needed for reconditioning)


Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, reach, and handle cleaning tools or supplies. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Requires mobility to enter and exit vehicles repeatedly and work in varying weather conditions. Must be able to remain on feet for extended periods and maintain focus while performing physical and repetitive tasks. Must have a valid drivers license and the ability to safely operate vehicles for customer test drives or inventory management.
