Job description

Industrial Cleaner 2nd Shift

LACOSTA is looking for an General Industrial Cleaners to join our team in Bourbonnais!

This site is conveniently accessible via local bus routes.

Job Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40hrs/week

  • 2nd Shift: 2:00PM-10:30PM

Pay Rate:

  • $16.00/hr, paid weekly

Job duties: We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious General Cleaner to perform janitorial duties across multiple buildings within a steel plant environment. This role involves frequent walking, standing, and traveling between buildings, both on foot and by vehicle, in all weather conditions.

You will be exposed to extreme heat, and heights. This position is at a steel mill where, at times, you will be working near visible flames.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal.
  • Maintain cleanliness in restrooms, break areas, offices, and common spaces.
  • Travel between various buildings on the plant site as part of daily responsibilities.
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to supervisors promptly.
  • Complete all tasks according to established cleaning procedures and schedules.

Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to safety procedures and PPE compliance.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred.
  • Basic janitorial or cleaning experience preferred but not required, training will be provided.
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
