Position Summary
The Certified Nursing Assistant provides hands-on personal care and daily living assistance to residents while promoting independence, dignity, safety, and comfort. Working closely with licensed nurses and other members of the care team, the CNA helps ensure residents receive attentive, respectful, and individualized care in a warm and welcoming environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene.
  • Assist residents with walking, repositioning, transfers, and other mobility needs while following appropriate safety and lifting procedures.
  • Provide assistance during meals and encourage proper nutrition and hydration in accordance with individual care plans.
  • Observe residents for changes in physical, emotional, or mental condition and promptly report concerns to the nursing staff.
  • Provide companionship, encouragement, and emotional support while fostering positive relationships with residents and their families.
  • Encourage and support resident participation in activities, social programs, and other opportunities that promote engagement and quality of life.
  • Follow established care plans, facility policies, and applicable procedures when providing resident care.
  • Complete required resident documentation accurately, timely, and confidentially.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, comfortable, and respectful environment for residents, visitors, and team members.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, nurses, caregivers, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Protect resident privacy and dignity while maintaining professional standards of conduct.
Qualifications
Required
  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing.
  • CPR and First Aid certification, or the ability to obtain certification as required.
  • Ability to provide compassionate, respectful, and dependable care to older adults.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow care plans, safety procedures, and facility policies.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a healthcare team.
Preferred
  • Previous experience in assisted living, skilled nursing, long-term care, or another healthcare setting.
  • Experience working with older adults or individuals requiring assistance with activities of daily living.
