Job description

Cleaning Technician (Carpet, Tile & Upholstery) — Vanpro Carpet Cleaning

Location: Ventura County + Santa Barbara, CA

Job Type: Full-time (preferred) / Part-time (considered)

Pay: Hourly + performance bonuses + tips (DOE)

Schedule: Weekdays with occasional Saturdays

About Vanpro Carpet Cleaning

Vanpro Carpet Cleaning is a local service company specializing in carpet, tile/stone, upholstery, and wood floor cleaning for homeowners (many with pets) throughout Ventura County and Santa Barbara. We’re known for being thorough, honest, and detail-driven—we don’t rush jobs or cut corners.

Role Overview

We’re hiring a Cleaning Technician to deliver high-quality results in homes and small commercial spaces. You’ll represent the Vanpro brand on-site, operate professional cleaning equipment, communicate clearly with customers, and complete jobs with a strong attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, tile/stone cleaning, and related services

  • Set up, operate, and maintain professional equipment (extractors, hoses, wands, sprayers, etc.)

  • Follow Vanpro’s process and quality standards (including CRB agitation as part of carpet cleaning)

  • Pre-inspect surfaces, identify concerns (pet issues, stains, wear), and choose the right approach

  • Apply pre-treatment and spot/stain treatment safely and effectively

  • Protect customer property (corners, furniture, flooring) and maintain a clean work area

  • Communicate professionally with customers: what you’re doing, expected dry times, aftercare tips

  • Complete job notes, photos, and checklists using a phone app/CRM (we use Housecall Pro)

  • Keep van stocked, organized, and ready for the next job

  • Support a team environment: reliability, honesty, and strong work ethic

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (you’ll be driving a work vehicle)

  • Able to lift 50+ lbs, work on knees, and perform physical work throughout the day

  • Strong attention to detail and pride in doing things the right way

  • Comfortable working in occupied homes and communicating with customers

  • Reliable transportation to/from the shop/dispatch point

  • Smartphone proficiency (photos, notes, scheduling app)

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Experience in carpet cleaning, restoration, detailing, housekeeping, or janitorial work

  • Knowledge of pet odor/stain treatment (urine, dander, heavy traffic areas)

  • Sales/customer service experience (not pushy—just professional and helpful)

  • IICRC certification (or willingness to earn)
