Job description

Overview

The Lead Massage Therapist (Lead LMT) is a full-time leadership role responsible for elevating massage operations, therapist performance, and client experience at the store level. This individual serves as both a clinical expert and on-floor leader, ensuring consistent execution of Clean Market’s service standards while acting as a cultural anchor for the LMT team.

At Clean Market, Lymphatic Drainage Massage (LDM) is a cornerstone offering within our science-backed, preventative wellness model. As a Lead LMT, you are not only delivering exceptional bodywork—you are guiding clients through a personalized wellness journey that supports detoxification, recovery, and overall well-being.

This role requires mastery across all Clean Market massage modalities—including lymphatic sculpting, signature massage, facial massage, prenatal and deep tissue massage—as well as the ability to train, coach, and inspire a high-performing team.

The Clean Market Approach to Massage

Clean Market’s Lymphatic Drainage Massage is a gentle yet highly effective treatment designed to support the body’s natural detoxification and immune function. By guiding lymphatic fluid through precise, intentional techniques, therapists help reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and promote overall balance.

Our method integrates:

  • Swedish massage techniques to enhance relaxation and circulation
  • Vodder Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) for targeted fluid movement
  • Myofascial release to relieve tension and improve mobility
  • Tools such as cupping, Gua Sha, and dry brushing to enhance results

Every treatment is personalized based on client goals—whether focused on detox, sculpting, recovery, or relaxation.

As Lead LMT, you are responsible for upholding and teaching this methodology with precision and consistency.

How Massage Integrates Into the Clean Market Experience

Massage at Clean Market is not a standalone service—it is part of a holistic, multi-modality wellness ecosystem.

IV Nutrient Therapy

  • Support enhanced nutrient absorption through improved circulation
  • Reduce inflammation and fatigue post-infusion
  • Encourage pairing of IV + massage for a full-body reset

The Lead LMT ensures therapists are confidently educating clients on these synergies and contributing to a seamless, elevated wellness journey.

Key ResponsibilitiesService & Operational Excellence

  • Hire, train, onboard, and mentor LMTs on all massage protocols and Clean Market methodologies
  • Ensure consistency and quality across all service offerings
  • Maintain treatment room standards, ensuring all spaces are clean, organized, and guest-ready
  • Conduct routine room audits
  • Monitor inventory and submit weekly Supply Request Forms
  • Partner with management on scheduling and capacity planning to optimize service flow
  • Scheduling of LMTs

Team Leadership & Communication

  • Serve as the primary on-shift leader and support system for all LMTs
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and hands-on technique development
  • Foster a collaborative, positive, and high-performance team culture
  • Act as liaison between therapists and Store Manager, escalating issues as needed

Client Experience

  • Lead by example in delivering best-in-class, results-driven massage services
  • Ensure therapists are confidently educating clients on treatment benefits and frequency
  • Maintain awareness of client feedback trends and support service improvements
  • Uphold a luxury, personalized, and hospitality-driven experience
  • Respond to client feedback

Technology & Administrative

  • Support therapist performance tracking and service consistency
  • Assist in resolving scheduling conflicts and optimizing booking flow

The Role of an LMT at Clean Market

At Clean Market, LMTs are more than service providers—they are:

  • Educators: Guiding clients on the benefits of lymphatic massage and recommending personalized treatment plans
  • Care Providers: Delivering safe, effective, and results-driven treatments aligned with brand standards
  • Brand Ambassadors: Embodying Clean Market’s values through professionalism, positivity, and client-first service
  • Collaborators: Working cross-functionally with nurses, front desk, and operations teams
  • Wellness Advocates: Encouraging clients to integrate services like IV therapy and infrared sauna for optimal results

As Lead LMT, you set the standard for this role and ensure the entire team operates at this level.

Qualifications

  • Active Illinois Massage Therapy License (required)
  • minimum of 1 year of lymphatic massage experience
  • Expertise across all Clean Market massage services
  • Proven leadership ability with strong communication and organizational skills
  • Passion for wellness, client experience, and team development

Success Indicators

  • Therapists are well-trained, confident, and aligned with Clean Market standards
  • Team culture is positive, supportive, and high-performing
  • Client satisfaction and service consistency remain high across all massage offerings
  • Massage services are effectively integrated into the broader Clean Market ecosystem
  • Treatment rooms are consistently clean, stocked, and service-ready
