Landscape Crew Member / Trainee
About the Role
JT’s Lawn & Landscaping in Raritan, NJ is looking for dependable, hardworking individuals to join our team as Landscape Crew Members / Trainees.
No landscaping experience is required. We are willing to train the right candidate who shows up consistently, works hard, follows directions, and wants to learn.
This is a hands-on, physically demanding outdoor position. Crew members work on residential and commercial properties throughout Central New Jersey performing lawn maintenance, cleanups, planting, mulching, and other landscaping services.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to learn the landscaping trade, gain experience with professional equipment, and grow into higher-paying positions such as Equipment Operator, Driver, or Crew Leader.
Responsibilities
  • Perform lawn mowing, weed whacking, edging, trimming, and blowing
  • Assist with spring and fall cleanups
  • Install mulch and assist with planting and pruning
  • Rake, collect, load, and remove leaves, brush, debris, and landscaping materials
  • Load and unload equipment, tools, and materials
  • Learn to safely operate professional landscaping equipment, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and other tools
  • Follow Crew Leader instructions and complete assigned work efficiently
  • Keep job sites, equipment, and work areas clean and organized

  • Strong work ethic and willingness to work
  • Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team

Hours and days vary depending on workload, weather, and job scheduling. Some days may be shorter or longer.

Compensation & Advancement
  • $18–$22 per hour depending on experience, ability, and performance
  • Weekly payroll
  • Potential overtime opportunities during busy periods
  • On-the-job training
