Now Hiring: Cleaning Technician Lead Hand - GTA


Location: Greater Toronto Area and surrounding areas
Work Environment: On-site at various client locations; indoor and outdoor work may be required
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Primarily evenings, overnight shifts, and weekends. The schedule is subject to change based on operational requirements.
Wage: $22 - $24 /hourly


Lead Hand Responsibilities


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with training and coaching new and existing cleaning technicians on proper cleaning techniques, safety procedures, site requirements, and company policies.
  • Provide direction and support to cleaning staff to help ensure assigned duties are completed correctly and on schedule.
  • Monitor the quality of cleaning services and help identify and correct service deficiencies.
  • Assist with maintaining adequate inventories of cleaning products and supplies.
  • Ensure cleaning tools and equipment are used properly, remain functional, and are reported for maintenance or replacement when necessary.
  • Serve as an on-site contact for clients when required and communicate service concerns or escalations to management.
  • Provide management with clear updates regarding staffing, supplies, equipment, site conditions, and service concerns.
  • Report to assigned sites and complete cleaning duties when coverage is required due to absences, no-shows, or staffing shortages.
  • Support site security procedures, including the responsible handling of keys, access cards, and alarm codes.
  • Promote a safe, respectful, and professional work environment.


Cleaning Responsibilities


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Sweep, mop, wash, and sanitize assigned areas.
  • Vacuum carpets, entrance mats, runners, and other floor surfaces.
  • Clean and restock washrooms.
  • Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces.
  • Dust furniture, fixtures, ledges, and other assigned surfaces.
  • Collect waste, replace liners, and empty garbage and recycling containers.
  • Pick up debris and maintain the general appearance of assigned areas.
  • Follow site-specific cleaning schedules, checklists, and client requirements.
  • Use cleaning products, tools, and equipment safely and correctly.
  • Complete routine care and basic maintenance of cleaning equipment.
  • Follow all site access, security, health, and safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for clients, employees, and visitors.


Qualifications and Requirements


  • Minimum of two to three years of janitorial or commercial cleaning experience.
  • Previous lead hand, supervisory, coaching, or training experience is considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial cleaning techniques, products, tools, and equipment.
  • Familiarity with workplace health and safety requirements, including WHMIS and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to provide clear direction while working respectfully and professionally with team members and clients.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Must be bondable and able to complete a Criminal Record Check.
  • Valid Ontario driver's licence required.
  • Must have a reliable personal vehicle to travel to and from assigned client sites.
  • Must be available to work evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays when required.
  • Basic computer and mobile-device skills, including email, digital checklists, and mobile applications, are considered an asset.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and perform physical duties while standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
