Job Description

DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS) is seeking highly motivated Herbicide Applicator Technicians to support vegetation management operations along rights-of-way and roadsides. Responsibilities include weed control, grass and brush cutting, trimming, and herbicide application using spray trucks, ATVs, backpack sprayers, and hose systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and document all required DOT truck inspections, including identifying and troubleshooting spray system or vehicle issues and reporting needed repairs.
  • Maintain trucks, spray equipment, and tools in a clean, safe, and organized condition at all times.
  • Operate herbicide application equipment safely and efficiently in a variety of field environments.
  • Receive training to properly calibrate and operate all spray equipment.
  • Develop a working knowledge of weed, grass, and brush identification.
  • Gain an understanding of herbicides, application methods, target vegetation, and all related safety procedures to ensure customer expectations and compliance standards are met.
Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 21+ years of age or older.
  • A valid driver's license required with clean MVR.
  • Successfully complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check, which will include previous employment check, and motor vehicle record review.
  • Must be able to travel away from home for up to 6-8 weeks at a time, 1 week home time. (Hotel paid for by DCS and per-diem).
  • At least 3 years of herbicide application experience required: Large scale commercial property is preferred. 
  • Commercial Pesticide Applicators preferred: Category C6, but not required for hire. This license will need to be obtained within the first 90 days of employment.

Compensation: $22-24/ hourly
