Job description

A leading interior renovation general contractor with more than 50 years' experience and a team of over 500, specializing in high-rise rental properties.

Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Construction Cleaner to join our team in providing post-construction cleaning services for apartment buildings. This role is responsible for ensuring that newly built or renovated apartments are thoroughly cleaned and ready for occupancy. The ideal candidate will have an eye for detail, strong work ethic, and the ability to perform physical tasks in a fast-paced environment. This position is located in Kingston, ON.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Post-Construction Cleaning: Clean newly constructed or renovated apartments, including removing construction debris, dust, and dirt from floors, walls, windows, and surfaces.

  • Trash Removal: Collect and dispose of construction debris, leftover materials, and other trash from the premises.

  • Detailed Cleaning:

    • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors, including carpets and tile surfaces.

    • Wipe down and sanitize countertops, cabinets, and appliances.

    • Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces.

    • Scrub and disinfect bathrooms, including toilets, showers, sinks, and floors.

  • Dusting & Surface Cleaning: Dust and wipe down light fixtures, baseboards, vents, and other surfaces.

  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all cleaning equipment is maintained and used safely.

  • Health and Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.

  • Inspection: Perform final inspection of apartments to ensure all areas are cleaned to a high standard before handover to property managers or tenants.

Qualifications:

  • Previous cleaning experience, preferably in a construction or post-renovation environment.

  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in physically demanding conditions.

  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to follow safety procedures and company guidelines.

  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, and lift for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
