JOB DESCRIPTION

SUMMARY

The Attorney Compliance Assistant supports the Senior Attorney Compliance Coordinator and Attorney Compliance Manager in administering the firm's Continuing Legal Education (CLE) compliance program. This role is responsible for assisting with the tracking and maintenance of attorney CLE requirements, updating compliance records, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of compliance data across multiple systems.

Responsibilities include supporting CLE accreditation and attendance tracking for firmwide educational programs, maintaining and updating learning management system (LMS) records, and managing departmental CLE documentation, including external client attendance data. The position also provides administrative support through data entry, expense reporting, filing, and professional communications while contributing to the firm's ongoing compliance efforts and accreditation requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Support CLE accreditation and attendance tracking processes for firmwide internal and external educational programs, including preparing and distributing sign-in sheets and attendance documentation.

  • Communicate program-specific CLE requirements, deadlines, and accreditation information to attorneys and other stakeholders.

  • Prepare and submit CLE accreditation applications across multiple jurisdictions.

  • Assist with maintaining records related to attorney licensing and ability to practice, including performing audits on attorney bar admission status.

  • Prepare and distribute certificates of attendance, evaluation forms, and related program materials.

  • Track attendance, prepare reports, and process associated CLE fees.

  • Maintain departmental CLE records, including attorney and external client attendance data.

  • Enter, update, and audit LMS data to support accurate CLE compliance tracking and reporting.

  • Assist with the collection, review, and onboarding of CLE records for new and lateral attorneys.

  • Maintain records and supporting documentation required for annual audits and accreditation reviews to preserve the firm's Accredited Provider status in applicable jurisdictions.

  • Provide general administrative support to the Attorney Compliance team, including filing, expense reporting, correspondence, and data management.

SKILLS NEEDED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Experience working with a Learning Management System (LMS) or similar database platform preferred.

  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to draft clear, professional, and timely correspondence.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, recordkeeping, and compliance reporting.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience processing CLE applications, attendance reporting, or compliance-related data preferred.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain confidential information with discretion.

  • Ability to identify discrepancies and maintain the accuracy and integrity of compliance records.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • 1-2 years of administrative, legal support, compliance, or related professional experience required.

  • Experience supporting CLE programs, attorney compliance functions, or learning management systems preferred.

  • Prior law firm or professional services experience preferred.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $55,000 - $65,000 and represents the Firm's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at this time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, and locations.
