This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Recruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): May be authorized for highly qualified candidates. Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases. Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME). Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA. The Physician - Community Living Center (CLC) is responsible for the overall quality of medical care and treatment to the Veteran population as assigned. This position offers a chance to serve our nation's veterans along with excellent work life balance. Prefer a physician with Geriatric fellowship or experience who enjoys working with a multidisciplinary team. The CLC provides Nursing Home level of care to Veterans who need short term rehabilitation or skilled nursing care, long term care, dementia care or hospice care. This position provides excellent work satisfaction with the opportunity to follow veterans longitudinally in addition to performing acute care as well as addressing emergent issues in their care. Ideal applicants are those who want to contribute to the achievement of quality care standards, as well as the growth and development of a VA academic hospital program. • Reviewing of Patients Histories, examinations, assessments and plans for CLC residents coordinating all evaluations, diagnostic testing, clinical follow up, and care coordination.
• Coordinating of Community Living Center (CLC) Team in the day to day management of Veterans.
• Promoting an atmosphere of efficiency and accuracy in the timeliness of submission of completed documents.
• Collaborating with Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistant, ancillary health care providers, and various clinical Specialties. Help facilitate hospital admissions, post discharge care and specialty consultations as needed.
• Participates in screening of veterans and completion of consults for the CLC.
• Participates in call schedule for telephonic coverage for urgent needs of veterans in the CLC after administrative hours.
• Participation in interdisciplinary Team meetings.
• Participates in other clinical duties as assigned by the ACOS for Geriatrics & Extended Care.
• Duties also include supervising and instructing Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Medical Students, Residents or Geriatric Fellows as needed in an Interdisciplinary Team setting.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm (Note: Work schedules are determined and approved by the supervisor. The incumbent may be required to work various shifts on a permanent or temporary basis based on facility/patient care needs).
