Lead Teacher (Infant/Toddler) – The Goddard School | Ashburn, VA (20147)
The The Goddard School in Ashburn (20147) is seeking a professional, dependable, and nurturing Lead Teacher for our Infant/Toddler classroom.
This is not a babysitting role. We are a premium early childhood program with high standards for care, safety, curriculum, and parent communication.

Compensation & Benefits
  • $20 – $25 per hour, based on experience, reliability, and ability to lead a classroom independently 
  • $500 sign-on bonus
    •  $250 after 60 days 
    •  $250 after 6 months

What You’ll Do
Classroom Leadership

  •  Lead an Infant/Toddler classroom with full ownership of routines, structure, and environment 
  •  Create a calm, safe, and responsive environment aligned with developmental needs 
  •  Maintain strong classroom management using positive guidance techniques 
Curriculum & Child Development

  •  Implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities 
  •  Observe, document, and support each child’s developmental milestones 
  •  Adapt activities to meet individual needs 
Parent Communication (Critical)

  •  Build strong, professional relationships with families through daily communication 
  •  Provide clear updates on development, routines, and any concerns 
  •  Handle parent questions with confidence and professionalism 
Health, Safety & Compliance

  •  Maintain strict adherence to all licensing, health, and safety standards 
  •  Ensure classroom cleanliness, organization, and readiness at all times 
  •  Supervise children actively during indoor and outdoor activities 
What We’re Looking For
Required

  •  Experience working with infants or toddlers in a licensed childcare setting 
  •  Strong reliability and professionalism (attendance and punctuality are critical) 
  •  Ability to manage a classroom independently 
  •  Comfortable communicating with parents daily 
Preferred

  •  Child Development Associate (CDA) or coursework in Early Childhood Education 
  •  1–3 years of classroom experience 
  •  Familiarity with Virginia licensing requirements 
Physical Requirements

  •  Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children
