Job description

Role Summary A dynamic, service-driven General Sales Manager (GSM) for our branch office location. The GSM will be responsible for overall management of all aspects of the branch location, including sales and customer service. A primary responsibility of this role will be to drive sales and positively impact branch revenue performance. The right fit for this role will enjoy "rolling up their sleeves" and jumping in to help as well as staying engaged in every aspect of branch Sale's. Experience driving business growth, as well as managing sales teams and Independent Contractors is a key aspect of this role. Skills and experience effectively leading, building rapport, motivating others, and managing team are imperative to candidate success. Ideal candidates must be able to effectively articulate sales strategy as well as plan and conduct motivational and educational meetings and training classes to groups and one-on-one. A "team-effort approach," taking ownership of the role, plus being self-motivated and growth oriented are the right combination of traits for success in this position. Responsibilities
  • Oversee branch sales in all aspects
  • Supervise sales staff through the employment life cycle, including hiring, training, performance management, coaching, supervising work, etc.
  • Manage team of Statutory non employees as Design Consultants
  • Lead weekly educational sales meetings to drive sales performance and ensure representative's knowledge base
  • Perform on-site and field sales classes focused on conveying sales strategy, company philosophy, and organizational procedures
  • Address and resolve escalated customer issues to ensure timely, satisfactory settlement of complaints
  • Perform site visits for customer service issues or to verify the quality of Contractors' work
  • Fill in or assists sales staff in multiple roles during planned or unplanned time off, high-volume periods, etc.
Qualifications
  • Problem solver who takes a proactive approach to resolve issues with a sense of urgency and improving service
  • Good judgment with the ability to make decisions with discernment, considering all sides
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Positive, dynamic, and enthusiastic personality
  • Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and communicate and build relationships with various personalities
  • Self-starter who can work independently with the motivation to grow
  • Flexible and able to manage shifting priorities or demands in a growing, fast-paced organization with a matrix management reporting structure
  • Efficient and organized with the capability to prioritize and use time effectively
  • 5+ years of related experience including experience managing and driving performance, leading teams, and managing employees.
  • In-home sales experience needed.
  • Experience within the home improvement industry is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with diverse flooring products and installation processes (hardwood, carpet, tile, laminate, etc.) is a plus
  • BA/BS or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Must be able to effectively articulate and train one on one or small groups
  • Travel: (50%-75% of the time) within a 75-mile radius as needed
