What is a Class D driver?

The Class D driver's license is the most common type of license for personal and non-commercial vehicle use. Requirements for obtaining a Class D license vary by state or region, but typically include passing written and road tests. Class D Drivers are not permitted to operate commercial motor vehicles, such as large trucks or buses, which require higher class licenses.

As a Class D Driver, your routes often involve local or regional deliveries, transporting goods or passengers within a specific area. Schedules can vary based on the employer, with some roles offering regular daytime hours, while others may require early mornings, evenings, or weekends. Flexibility depends on company policies and the nature of the deliveries, but many positions offer advance notice for shifts and may allow for some scheduling preferences.
