Summary:
The Sales Manager leads and develops a team of sales professionals to drive revenue growth and profitability within the assigned territory. This role is highly field-focused, requiring regular travel alongside the sales team to engage directly with customers, strengthen relationships, and identify new business opportunities.
The Sales Manager executes strategic sales plans, expands market share through new and existing accounts, and ensures a high level of customer satisfaction. Additionally, this role partners cross-functionally, monitors performance against key metrics, and fosters a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities & Expectations:
Leadership
  • Manage, develop, coach, upskill and motivate the field and inside sales teams on selling techniques, account planning, forecasting, reporting, CRM and product knowledge
  • Set clear performance expectations, monitor progress, and help sellers achieve results
  • Resolve complex / escalated customer issues
  • Select, onboard and develop new sales professionals to build a cohesive team
  • Collaborate across roles and levels including with operations, and functions
  • Hold self and others accountable for maintaining a safety culture, strive for zero injuries, recordables, and lost time

Commercial
  • Cultivate and foster relationships with key customers within the market
  • Frequently accompanies sales professionals on sales visits and supports large new account acquisition within the territory, maintaining high-level customer relationships
  • Execute go-to-market strategy achieving Plans within the territory
  • Expand Alside's share of the market through existing and new product offerings

Financial
  • Set market goals for New Business based on current market share and market opportunity
  • Develop forecasts and leverage Salesforce pipeline
  • Analyze sales data and reports to identify trends and opportunities, research customer needs and identify how our solutions address those needs
  • Execute and pricing and rebate initiatives ensuring profitability

Required Skills & Experience:
  • 5+ years of proven successful sales experience
  • Familiarity with sales forecasting, business planning and financial reports
  • Willing to travel up to 75% of the time during the workweek
  • Proficient with CRM system and Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

PREFERRED EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred
  • 1+ year of sales management experience
  • Strong knowledge of residential and commercial building markets and buyers
  • Experience using Salesforce.com to help coach, manage and drive results
