Job description

Senior Structural Engineer
We are seeking a Professional Engineer for a permanent position for an industry-recognized
structural engineering firm, supporting tri-county South Florida. This is a hybrid position supporting their Broward/Fort Lauderdale/Davie, FL location. The Professional Engineer will have prior experience with and be fully responsible for producing, signing, and sealing engineering projects.

Responsibilities of the Senior Structural Engineer
  • Develop and review engineering calculations for building/component or structure analysis and design
  • Develop and review project specifications to promote companywide quality assurance standards
  • Coordination with engineering technicians for data collection and drawing preparation
  • Sign and seal documents in your field of expertise
  • Provide collaboration and internal peer review to promote companywide quality assurance standards
  • Client correspondence, representation and coordination
  • Participate in business development activities
  • Building/structure condition assessments and forensic investigations
  • Construction observation and documentation
  • Compose and review observation, field, and summary reports
  • Guide and assist project engineers with professional development and engineering competency

Must Have Skills of the Senior Structural Engineer
  • Experience in at least one of the following fields:
    • Restoration/Architectural Engineering concrete, steel, wood, CMU, light gauge metal, waterproofing, finishes, strengthening, authorized threshold inspection.
    • Components and Cladding Engineering curtain wall, windows, doors, railing, roofing.
    • Construction Engineering shoring, bracing, temporary structures, fall protection anchors.
  • Industrial/Marine Structure Engineering seawalls, docks, piers, water/wastewater plants
  • New Design Engineering commercial, residential or municipal, threshold inspection
  • Graduation with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural Engineering focus from an ABET accredited University.
  • Professional Engineering license in the state of Florida or the ability to acquire by comity from another state.
  • Detailed oriented skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
