Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Food Tech Associate / Technician to join our R&D/Application team in Chicago. This role is ideal for a recent college graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in food product development. You will support customer projects and internal innovation efforts by executing lab work, conducting application testing, and assisting in pilot-scale trials. This is a great opportunity to build technical expertise while contributing to the development of seasoning and food solutions that deliver both performance and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and test seasoning and food solution prototypes
  • Conduct application testing based on customer requirements
  • Prepare samples for internal and external evaluations
  • Perform routine laboratory tests and basic analytical experiments following standard procedures
  • Assist in pilot trials and scale-up processes (lab to plant)
  • Perform weighing, batching, and processing of raw materials
  • Accurately document test results and prepare technical reports
  • Collaborate with R&D team members and Category Managers
  • Maintain laboratory cleanliness, organization, and proper upkeep of equipment and supplies

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Basic laboratory experience and familiarity with standard lab equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to execute tasks accurately

  • Experience with seasoning, savory, or flavor applications
