Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is seeking Construction Materials Technicians to join our Central Canada Materials Testing group based out of our Richmond Hill, Ontario office.  Join our team of specialists who provide materials testing and quality assurance as an integral component to design, and ensure projects are built with the safest and most sustainable materials. We provide materials testing and quality assurance services on some of the biggest projects in Canada.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical services in a field, lab and occasionally office environment
  • Perform concrete, soil and asphalt compaction testing in the field for various projects in accordance with relevant standards and reporting
  • Maintain equipment, inventory and records required for a CCIL certified laboratory
  • Work with an provide support to other members of the field technical group in assisting with other field activities
  • Adhering to all company safety rules and policies
Skills / Qualifications
  • 3 + years' experience with civil construction practices and relevant testing standards would be considered an asset
  • Diploma in Civil Technology or Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • Current registration or eligibility for registration as an OACETT
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience with digital reporting systems and technology considered an asset
  • Familiar with Quality Management Systems would be considered an asset
  • Strong written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently in an office / laboratory setting and liaise with supervisors and team leads
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving experience (for field positions)
  • Ability to work overtime
