Are you ready to help transform raw land into thoughtfully designed, constructible sites that support growing communities? CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Civil Site Engineer to join our Land Development Team in Parsippany, NJ. In this role, you will contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of land development projects by solving complex site challenges, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting projects that balance functionality, constructability, and regulatory requirements. This is an opportunity to play a hands-on role in shaping commercial, residential, and institutional sites that move communities forward.


  • Independently complete engineering design, technical analysis, and preparation of plans, specifications, and reports for land development projects including site layout, grading, drainage, and utility infrastructure
  • Develop design calculations, technical memorandums, and construction documents under the guidance of senior engineers or technical leadership
  • Identify and resolve technical discrepancies, applying standard engineering practices, local development codes, and permitting requirements
  • Monitor project progress and coordinate design efforts to support schedules, budgets, and constructability
  • Take responsibility for significant portions of land development projects with oversight from senior staff or management, including coordination with survey, environmental, and permitting efforts

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required
  • Minimum of 3 years of civil site design required
  • Experience with municipal engineering clients preferred
  • Site design experience related to manufacturing facilities preferred
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required; Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
  • Strong working and theoretical knowledge in the respective engineering discipline with a proven ability to apply engineering knowledge in practical settings
  • Understanding of QA/QC procedures and regulatory standards
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office required
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred

  • Work alongside experienced engineers, planners, and project managers on diverse land development projects
