Job description

Position Overview
The Project Manager - Civil Services plays a key role within the Civil Services Division, overseeing the planning, execution, and successful delivery of a wide range of civil construction and field service projects. This position is responsible for managing projects from initial customer engagement and estimating through completion, while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.
The ideal candidate is a motivated and experienced manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to building strong customer relationships, supporting operational excellence, and driving continued growth within the division. This role works closely with customers, field leadership, vendors, and internal teams to coordinate personnel, equipment, schedules, and resources necessary for successful project execution.
In addition to project oversight, the Project Manager will support business development efforts by assisting with estimates, proposals, budgeting, and project planning to help secure future work opportunities. This individual will be expected to identify opportunities for process improvement, operational efficiencies, and long-term customer support while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Successful candidates will possess strong technical knowledge, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously. This position requires a willingness to travel to customer and project sites as needed, including occasional overnight stays, and the flexibility to work extended hours when project demands require it.
What You'll Do
  • Organize, execute, and maintain project records and files within the company's servers and databases
  • Understand and oversee the scope of work and assist with managing projects within the scope of work limits
  • Oversee quoting efforts to include reviewing, approving, and preparing quotes and change orders
  • Collaborate with other Project Managers to establish and manage project specific goals
  • Manage material and equipment suppliers to support assigned projects
  • Review and ensure accuracy of time and material tickets, receipts, daily field reports, and other paperwork from field personnel
  • Review, establish, update, and analyze project schedules
  • Review and analyze project budgets, cost tracking, and budgeted vs actual performance data

Working Conditions
  • Sit, talk, hear, read, write and type
  • Walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms
  • Lift and/or move up to 35 pounds
  • Perform duties on-site at a variety of industrial and/or commercial locations to include those underground and at various heights

What You'll Bring
  • 5+ years' experience with project management in a civil trade setting preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of and experience in industrial civil industries required
  • Preference given to candidates with a degree or certificate in related fields such as Civil, Environmental, Business, Project Management, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience in a variety of related trades with the ability to lead multi-faceted projects
  • Ability to troubleshoot on-the-job issues effectively and efficiently
  • Must possess the knowledge, experience, and ability to make sound business decisions
  • Proficient in organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure and meet budgets and deadlines
  • Possess strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and other PC based programs
  • Proficient with project management software such as Microsoft Project or ProCore
