Job description

Project Specialist Job Description

The Heavy Highway Project Specialist plays a critical role in the successful planning, coordination, and execution of heavy highway and bridge construction projects. This position involves managing various aspects of project delivery, scheduling, and compliance. The specialist ensures that all project activities align with industry standards, client requirements, and safety regulations, while also working closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to achieve project goals.

Key Responsibilities:


    • Assist in the development of project schedules and budgets.
    • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth workflow.
    • Track project costs and expenditures to maintain budgetary controls.
    • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts and permits.
    • Provide regular updates on project status, challenges, and solutions to management.
    • Enter, update, and verify data into relevant systems and databases with a high degree of accuracy and speed.
    • Ensure that all data entries are error-free and comply with company standards and guidelines.
    • Perform regular data audits to identify and correct inconsistencies or errors.
    • Communicate with team members or other departments to obtain missing information or clarify details.
    • Provide regular updates on data entry progress to supervisors or managers.

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations specific to heavy highway and civil projects.
  • Experience in LCAMS and Miss Utility (VA 811) a plus.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Occasional fieldwork in various construction sites, including exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Ability to work extended hours to meet project deadlines.
