Job description

Aviation Senior Site Civil Project Manager
For the last six decades, Garver has been designing projects nationally for more than 250 aviation clients. Ranked 11 on the ENR's list of Top Airport Firms, Garver understands the complexities of airport systems held together by runways, roadways, facilities, and electrical systems that need to work in tandem to accommodate daily needs for travel and transport. As part of Garver's commitment to continued innovation in airport design, our Aviation Team is dedicated to providing the expertise and leadership to assist our clients in meeting both current and future needs nationally on large landside aviation projects.
The Aviation Senior Site Civil Project Manager will primarily be responsible for overseeing design teams and managing airport land development projects. The Aviation Senior Site Civil Project Manager must be able to work as a member of a multi-disciplined team, work with diverse clients, and produce complete design phase deliverables, including drawings, specifications, cost estimates, exhibits, technical reports, and narratives. Tasks associated with creating a set of construction documents include drafting, quantity computations, specifications, and cost estimates. Team coordination, project management, staff management, and project quality and financial performance management will also be expected. Past experience with design development software packages including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other civil design packages is required.
Responsibilities will include
  • Oversee and manage a landside civil aviation project portfolio for Garver airports nationwide, with construction values reaching up to $100 million.
  • Manage, mentor, and support a team of project engineers, fostering technical excellence and professional growth.
  • Oversee the financial performance and profitability of multiple projects, ensuring successful delivery within budget and schedule expectations.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients while coordinating effectively with internal multidisciplinary teams, regulatory agencies, and external stakeholders.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • PE license
  • 10+ years of related experience with site civil design, permitting, applicable software applications
  • Management-level knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Design experience that includes drainage, grading, and utilities
  • Experience with due diligence, permitting, and jurisdictional coordination
  • Experience with task management, concept, design, and project management tasks
  • Managing a multiple project portfolio
  • Ensuring design teams adhere to project schedules, budgets and quality control plans
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with both internal employees and external clients
  • Some travel may be required (approximately 10% with occasional overnight)
