Civil Project Manager
Minimum 2 Years experience as a Civil Engineer / Project Manager
Venteon is currently seeking an experienced Civil Project Manager to fill a opening with a construction company located in Metro Detroit. The ideal candidates should have Project Engineering experience specifically with Construction projects.
Requirements of the Civil Project Manager
  • Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience in Construction Management, Engineering or related degree
  • Experience with civil engineering, land development, utilities and/or structures
  • Industrial/Automotive/Higher Education markets project experience highly preferred
  • Strong proactive positive attitude with commitment to safety
  • Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards, etc.,
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills plus demonstrated ability to manage a team of varied disciplines.
  • Preferred Experience in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project and Viewpoint

Responsibilities of the Civil Project Manager
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil construction projects, including earthwork, utilities, concrete, site development, and roadway work.
  • Interpret plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports to develop accurate quantity takeoffs.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
  • Develop bid proposals, schedules, and value-engineering options.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess project conditions.
  • Maintain historical cost data and update estimating tools as needed.
  • Accountable for overall safety, quality, schedule, profitability, and customer satisfaction on assigned projects.
  • Establish and oversee the safety plan and enforce a strong safety culture at assigned sites.
  • Write and manage all contracts with contractors, testing companies, and design professionals.
  • Lead project kickoff, planning, and scheduling activities.
