Job description

Amentum is seeking a Civil Engineering Manager for Las Vegas, Nevada. The Civil Engineering Manager is a critical leadership role within the program, and oversees the planning, design, and execution of civil infrastructure projects while providing technical leadership and ensuring compliance with all safety and quality standards. This role demands a blend of technical expertise, strong project management skills, and leadership capabilities. As the Civil Engineering Manager, you will lead and manage engineering and technical teams to ensure the successful delivery of diverse civil engineering projects, such as roads, runways, buildings, utilities, and water systems. You will provide expert technical guidance, manage project budgets and schedules, and act as a primary liaison between engineering teams, operations, clients, and regulatory agencies.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Project Management:Oversee all aspects of assigned projects from conceptualization to completion, ensuring they are on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.

  • Technical Oversight:Provide expert civil engineering technical support and guidance, reviewing and approving designs, plans, and specifications.

  • Team Leadership and Engagement:Oversee project teams, provide guidance, support and mentorship to civil engineers and technical staff; assigning tasks and fostering professional development.

  • Work cooperatively and professionally with Operations and Functional Managers, and all personnel on the contract. Coordinate and share best practices with internal and external stakeholders, as well as other management and supervisory personnel.

  • Compliance and Safety:Ensure all projects adhere to relevant local, state, and federal regulations, building codes, and safety standards.

  • Stakeholder Communication:Serve as the main point of contact for clients, contractors, government agencies, and other stakeholders, preparing and presenting detailed project reports and proposals.

  • Budget & Resource Management:Develop project scopes of work, manage budgets, control costs, and allocate resources efficiently.

  • Problem-Solving:Identify and resolve complex technical issues and challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.

  • Site Inspections:Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor progress and ensure compliance with design specifications.

  • Ability to multi-task, adhere to deadlines, and work both independently and cooperatively with union employees, business agents and labor relations.

  • Foster a culture of inclusion, innovation, and continuous improvement within the program, operational and functional teams, and the company.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering, or construction management, from an accredited program, or equivalent combination of academic/technical training.

  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) is strongly preferred

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in civil engineering and project management, including demonstrated management and leadership applicable in fields of Facility Operations & Maintenance, Construction, and Civil Engineering. This includes experience in engineering and administration in the operation and maintenance of industrial or military facilities and in the organization and implementation of design and construction programs.

  • Must possess a minimum of an active Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Security Clearance

  • Possess a valid state issued driver's license.

  • Position requires routine travel to operational and project sites.

Compensation Details:

$160,000 - 210,000

Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
