Location: Pleasanton, CA

A prominent Northern California civil engineering firm is hiring an Associate Civil Engineer for their Pleasanton office to support a variety of land development and public infrastructure projects. This role offers the chance to work under seasoned professionals on residential, commercial, mixed-use developments, and essential public works like sanitary sewer, water supply, stormwater, and flood control systems.

Role Overview

You'll contribute to diverse civil engineering tasks, from design and analysis to coordination and junior staff oversight, in a collaborative team setting focused on delivering practical solutions for California projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support design and drafting using AutoCAD Civil 3D for grading, earthwork, utilities, and site improvements.

  • Perform hydrology and hydraulics calculations for stormwater and drainage systems.

  • Assist with supervision of entry-level staff and production of construction documents.

  • Coordinate with public agencies, clients, and design consultants to advance project submittals.

  • Help with project management elements like schedules, proposal support, and agency communications.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) from an ABET-accredited university.

  • California Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in California land development design, public infrastructure, or hydrology/hydraulics.

  • Strong proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D; familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel, Project) required.
