Responsibilities
  • Performs and oversees civil engineering work, focused on site design components including site layout, yard piping, roadways, paving and grading, and stormwater infrastructure
  • Performs and oversees conceptual and preliminary design activities including site visits, fieldwork, alternatives analysis, and report preparation
  • Completes and oversees detailed design calculations, drawings, and specifications for site civil aspects of treatment facility and infrastructure projects
  • Conducts and reviews stormwater hydraulic calculations and/or modeling and incorporates into the site civil design
  • Develops, reviews, and coordinates permitting associated with site development for treatment facility and infrastructure projects
  • Assists with coordinating and performs quality reviews of subconsultant work
  • Prepares and reviews technical memoranda, reports, and electronic deliverables
  • Reviews contractor submittals for conformance with contract drawings and specifications
  • Provides, coordinates, and oversees engineering services during construction
  • Serves as the lead civil engineer for large multi-discipline projects and project manager on site/civil engineering projects

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related engineering field
  • Minimum of 10 years of directly relevant experience in civil/site development, stormwater, and permitting
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer
  • Ability to apply critical thinking to develop options and recommendations to solve technical problems
  • Ability to develop and oversee working drawings for civil plans (site layout, piping, grading, drainage, and paving) from sketches (determines scales, layout, and need for specific detail)
  • Experience with the planning and design of facility layout and site design projects
  • Experience with site development requirements and permitting; experience with environmental resource permits
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with clients and project team
  • Ability to manage, oversee, and train junior civil engineering staff
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in civil engineering or related engineering field
  • Experience using AutoCAD and Civil 3D to develop engineering drawings
  • Experience with GIS and/or stormwater hydrologic modeling software

Compensation Range
An employee's pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
