Job description

Are you passionate about shaping the future of the civil engineering profession and helping professionals thrive throughout their careers? The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is seeking a strategic, collaborative, and driven Manager, Workforce & Education to lead programs and initiatives that strengthen the civil engineering workforce and advance professional growth across the career lifecycle.

What You'll Do

  • Establish and implement annual strategies and goals to support broader pathways, recruitment and retention, and essential skills development in civil engineering, aligned with ASCE strategic priorities
  • Develop and manage programs to define and promote evolving roles, competencies, and career pathways including ASCE's Civil Engineering Body of Knowledge, Guidelines for Engineering Grades, and career paths in a central online resource
  • Lead and support the Committee on Career Advancement (CCA), Committee on Licensure Innovation (CLI), and workforce and education related task groups
  • Coordinate educational content, white papers, articles, presentations, and workforce resources
  • Manage budgets, timelines, events, reporting, and stakeholder communications
  • Collaborate with committees, volunteers, staff, and external partners to address workforce challenges

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; engineering or management background a plus
  • 3-5 years of engineering, association, workforce development, education, or related experience desired
  • Strong project management and volunteer leadership experience
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and business systems
