Contract Details :

  • Job Title : SITE MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING INTERN
  • Type of contract : Long-term At-will
  • Expected Hiring Date : Fall 2026

Responsibilities :

  • Will support the Plastic Injection Department in driving process improvements, enhancing manufacturing efficiency, and improving product quality through data-driven analysis and hands-on engineering support.
  • Assist with the specification, installation, startup, and validation of new injection molding machines and associated auxiliary equipment. T
  • Work closely with manufacturing, maintenance, tooling, automation, quality, and production teams to help ensure successful equipment integration, process readiness, operator training, and achievement of performance targets.
  • Support continuous improvement projects by collecting and analyzing production data to identify opportunities for cycle time reduction, scrap reduction, process stability improvement, energy savings, and increased equipment effectiveness.
  • Assist in the planning, installation, and startup of new injection molding machines, robots, material handling systems, and auxiliary equipment, including participation in equipment layout reviews, utility verification, equipment acceptance, and production readiness activities.
  • Work with manufacturing and maintenance teams during machine installation projects to coordinate equipment commissioning activities, track project milestones, document action items, and help ensure safe and timely machine launch.
  • Support process development and validation activities for newly installed equipment, including machine trials, parameter optimization, capability studies, validation runs, and documentation of standard processing conditions to achieve quality and productivity targets.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation related to both existing and newly installed equipment, including process sheets, standard operating procedures, machine specifications, layout drawings, startup checklists, training materials, and continuous improvement reports.
  • Other related activities as assigned.

Ideal Candidate Profile :

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Junior or Senior standing preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis techniques.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in manufacturing processes and industrial equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with operators, technicians, engineers, and managers.
  • Willingness to spend significant time on the production floor in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
