Job Description
Coffman Engineers is seeking a Civil Engineer with zero to three years of working experience, who wants to be a part of our office growth and culture. The successful candidate will have a desire to work, grow, and have fun with a multi-discipline engineering team that has recently been recognized as Best Engineering Firm by Alaska Business magazine. Our Anchorage Civil Engineering group is growing and offers the benefits of a close-knit team combined with the resources of a nationally recognized engineering firm.
This position will support the team in providing our clients with all aspects of civil engineering, including land development design, site layouts, grading plans, stormwater management facilities, water quality best management practices, utility design, and multi-discipline coordination.
Our Anchorage Civil Engineering department consists of a growing team of professionals that enjoy leveraging our collective experience to deliver innovative solutions focused on our clients' success. With two Principal engineers, six licensed Senior Engineers, and additional team members including EITs and dedicated designers, you'll find plenty of opportunities for training, mentorship, and support to help you grow your career.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements Include:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering.
  • From zero to three (0 - 3) years of experience in the civil engineering profession.
  • EIT or ability to obtain EIT status within 2 years.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including oral presentation skills.
  • Possess intermediate level computer skills necessary for daily activities, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and simple graphics.
  • Able to work on a highly motivated team, think outside the box, and be proud of the work you do while having a passion for expanding your knowledge and skills.

Desired Skills:
  • Possess technical writing skills.
  • Assist in managing CAD and production efforts.
  • Solid understanding of commonly used hydrologic and hydraulic calculation methods.
  • Perform research and documentation for internal and external distribution.
  • Experience utilizing AutoCAD and Civil3D to prepare civil engineering design documents.
