Overview

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is growing and we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional in our Tucson, AZ office. As a Civil Engineering Principal for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you'll collaborate with our senior management to grow the Civil/Site Practice. By developing and strengthening our relationships with prospective and existing clients, you will guide the growth of the practice on both a local and regional basis. Through your experience, you will guide the external stakeholders through the regulatory environment, and ensure the technical excellence of your projects. You'll be directly responsible for developing and reviewing proposals and project budgets, managing/mentoring a team of engineers and project managers, and performing final quality control/assurance.

In your role, you will guide a team of engineers and project managers through multi-faceted civil engineering projects and business development initiatives. As part of the management team, you will assist in the recruiting and professional development of the staff, including the performance of annual reviews and the establishment of development goals. Concurrently, our senior management teams will work with you to customize your individual career path through a variety of professional development and mentoring activities related to your project management, leadership, business development initiatives and service offerings, and assist with office/corporate initiatives.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

  • 15+ years' experience;
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering;
  • Arizona Professional Engineering License (P.E.); 
  • Local connections and or existing professional network with developers, architects, businesses, clients, regulatory agencies, etc.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Demonstrated experience preparing engineering plans for permitting and construction, able to work with various regulatory agencies to gain project approvals; 
  • Ability to network and develop strong client relationships; 
  • Demonstrated skills relating to technical oversight and project management services including quality reviews of design aspects including site layouts, grading plans, stormwater management facilities, water quality best management practices, utilities, and supporting calculations;
  • Ability and experience to recruit mentor and lead the development of a diverse professional staff providing integrated client services.
