Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Ports and Marine Civil Engineer II (Hybrid) to be based in Orange, CA. You will be joining of a global team of 500+ Engineers and Designers specializing in the maritime environment. This rolewill support a wide range of maritime developments including container terminals, LNG facilities, waterfront developments, cruise and ferry terminals, marinas and harbors as well as coastal schemes such as beach development and coastal protection schemes.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Undertaking Civil design activities on maritime projects - container terminals, marinas, ports and harbors, coastal defense and development schemes, bulk material storage, and oil/gas facilities.
  • Performing Civil design for Intermodal terminals across the United States.
  • Independently preparing Civil engineering related construction documents such as; plans, details, technical specifications, and  calculations.
  • Coordinating with engineers of multiple career levels and multiple disciplines.
  • Providing task-level guidance to entry level engineers.
  • Independently performing all the tasks necessary to complete design tasks for engineering works.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Engineer-in Training
  • Proficient in CAD and design software, specifically Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley OpenRoads
  • 5 years' experience, specifically in the preparation of Civil Engineering Plans, Specifications and Estimate packages  
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience in the design of marine terminals
  • Enthusiastic, hard-working, technically proficient, with ambition and drive
