We are seeking a Construction Manager to join our team for a project in Longview, WA. This person will manage budget, schedule, communications, and quality for construction of projects acting as an ownerโ€™s representative. This position requires clear and accurate communication of project information to the client, general public, regulatory agencies, and other agencies, peers, and managers.

Keys to Success
  • Oversee on-site construction, ensuring compliance with codes, safety regulations (including OSHA) and quality standards
  • Manage multiple construction projects and inspection field staff simultaneously; manage project budget and cost control activities.
  • Work closely with regulatory agencies, such as FERC or similar entities.
  • Implement quality control procedures.
  • Work independently to meet deadlines, act in an Ownerโ€™s Representative role, and execute a wide range of construction management activities.
  • Track status, review and effectively process time sensitive construction documents including change orders, requests for information, submittals, and other documents.
  • Effectively communicate with the project team including the owner, construction contractor, design team, and project stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in construction management
  • Demonstrates success in working independently to meet deadlines, act in an Ownerโ€™s Representative role, and execute a wide range of construction management activities.
  • Must be safety oriented and have a working knowledge of safety requirements.
  • Ability to read, understand, and verify implementation of construction drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Suite, Adobe, and higher math (trigonometry and geometry).
  • Conducts work in a very detail-oriented manner.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Driven to seek continual learning and improvement.
  • Capable of maintaining composure under pressure and remaining flexible despite interruptions or changes.
  • Must be able to walk, lift, carry, stoop, bend, twist, and work outdoors on uneven surfaces routinely.
  • Site visits may include exposure to weather extremes and rough or uneven terrain.
  • Current driverโ€™s license and good driving record required.
  • Ability to be insured to drive company vehicles required.
Preferred qualifications
  • NICET Certification (Construction) or WSDOT inspection certifications
  • 10 years of work experience in civil design/construction or similar projects
  • Experience with Microsoft Project or Smartsheet scheduling software

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as various market and business considerations.

US Pay Range $55โ€”$65 USD

  • Full-time employees receive a well-rounded benefit package including access to our company-sponsored Medical (including an HSA High Deductible option), Dental, Vision, FSA, and Supplemental Life Insurance plans.
  • We also offer 100% company-paid Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability coverage.
  • Employees are eligible to participate in our companyโ€™s 401(k) plan with up to a 4% match.
  • Additionally, employees receive paid vacation and sick time, 11 paid holidays, and are able to participate in employee ownership options.
  • MacKay pays for expenses associated with licensure as well as annual performance bonuses.
