About the Agency: The Office of State Aid Road Construction (OSARC) mission is to help Mississippi counties build better roads to the future by administering state and federally funded road and bridge construction projects in accordance with the statutory requirements of Sections 65-9 (1-33) and 65-37 (1-15) of the Mississippi Code of 1972, by providing project planning, review, project oversight, engineering oversight, accounting, contract administration, and information systems for the benefit of each Mississippi 82 counties . About the Position: This position is Non-State Service (X-16). The Office of State Aid Road Construction (OSARC) is responsible for managing Mississippi's State Aid Road Program, which assists the state's 82 counties in constructing and maintaining secondary, non-state-owned roads and bridges. This program is crucial for enhancing local infrastructure and ensuring connectivity between rural areas and major highways. The mission focuses on project planning, review, engineering oversight, accounting, contract administration, and information systems to enhance road and bridge safety and infrastructure across Mississippi counties. What you'll need to be Successful: Successful candidates will need a strong blend of technical expertise in their field, excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, project management skills, decision-making capabilities, leadership qualities, and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications: Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline, Licensure and 6-7 years of experience as an Engineer. - Agency Preferred Qualifications: A Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university. Must have a current MS Professional Engineers License (PE) in Civil Engineering, with at least six (6) years' experience in Civil engineering.
