This bonus is typically paid upon accepting an employment offer or after completing a probation period. The amount can vary depending on factors such as location, demand for civil engineers, and the employer's budget. Sign-on bonuses are often used to make job offers more competitive and to encourage candidates to accept positions quickly. These projects typically involve multidisciplinary teams and require close coordination with architects, surveyors, and contractors. New hires can expect to engage in tasks like site assessments, designing structural elements, preparing cost estimates, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
